Vaginal Candidiasis in Prostitutes

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this paper represent our study of vaginal candidiasis in prostitutes at Taegu and kyungju area.
Many reports showed the incidence of vaginal candidiasis are closely related to physical conditions and socioeconomic background of series. In this study, 320 cases of prostitutes are examined and the collected specimens are cultured in Sabouraud´s media and identified by methylen blue staining methed.
Obtained results are as follows:
1. 103 cases of candidiasis discovered in 320 cases of prostitutes(32.2%), control group (random sample from outpatient) showed 16.5% ofcandidiasis.
2. The range of age distribution is 15 year old to 32 year-old. And from 15 to 20 year old group showed 41.9%, 2125 year old group showed 32.0%, and 20 to 32 year-old group showed 25.4% of candidiasis.
3. The length of prostitute life and incidence of candidiasis is not correlated.
4. The strains identification were done by sugar fermentation and the incidence of candidal strain were same proportion of clinidal outpatient series. And candida albicans is predominant str~iin(about 60% in this study groups).
